I was born and raised on a small grain and livestock farm in east central Illinois and in this small town atmosphere, my love for animals was created! I have always wanted to be a veterinarian. I can't ever remember a day that I didn't want to be a vet. I never strayed from that dream. Ever.
I graduated with my Bachelors of Science from Western Illinois University (Go Leathernecks!) in 2003 and then received my Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Illinois (ILL...INI) in 2008. After a short time in mixed animal veterinary medicine out of college, I turned to small animal medicine (cats/dogs) and met my husband in Iowa.
Currently, I reside on a farm just outside of Oelwein with my husband and many four-legged furry kids which include my dogs: Gretta (Newfoundland) & Max (Saint Bernard) along with my many cats: Oreo, Toad, Milo, Garfield, Harvey & Harry. Several chickens and some British White cattle also round out the rest of the family circus.
I have special interests in internal medicine, dentistry, cats, and giant breed dogs.
Outside of veterinary medicine, I enjoy flower gardening, canning & preserving vegetables from my garden, and (without question) I love all the snuggles with my furry family.
I truly enjoy not only helping animals but helping people as well. Being a veterinarian is not a job to me, it's a passion. When you walk through my door you're my family, not just another patient or client. You'll be treated like you belong here and as if we were long lost friends catching up on good times. With that being said, I am adamant about providing affordable and exceptional quality care for everyone.
There are no words or enough thank yous for all the generous individuals that helped me in my many facets of life. I'm truly grateful.
